NEOTERRORISM IN IMO STATE! By KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
MONOPOLY ON LEGITIMATE USE OF VIOLENCE AS A CHARACTERISTIC OF GOVERNMENT: ROCHAS OKOROCHA AND FAMILY ON YET ANOTHER ILLEGALITY It is a truism that before government nay the state, the use of naked power and physical violence was in the hands of all who can and may. This is clearly witnessed in the theories of the social contractarians viz; Thomas Hobbes, John Locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau. According to Hobbesian rendering in the state of nature, life was brutish nasty, solitary and short. It was war of all against all. This shows how liberalized the use of force or violence was. Mind you, this is in the state of nature. By this time there was no government and no state. Here in the state of nature, it was like wherever and whatever page you can find, you read along. However, at the wake of human social organization, there was need for sanity, orderliness and leadership. At this point, all citizens submitted their whims and caprices, their wills and freewill to the leviatha...

STOP SLEEPING IN THE PARLIAMENT OWELLE ANAYO ROCHAS OKOROCHA: SYCOPHANTS BEWARE! By KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
Yesterday, I posted a picture trending where our dear former Governor of Imo State, Chief Dr. Owelle Anayo Ethelbert Rochas Okorocha, was taking a nice sleep in the hallowed chamber of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. That sounded a ridicule to his allies and flowers. It however was comic relief to a lot who are either indifferent or not his supporters. But to me, it was absolutely annoying. I am compelled to write this clarification because of certain responses I have got especially from the quarters of his (Rochas Okorocha's) goons and lovers. I do not write this to please anyone and not to vilify Mr. Rochas Okorocha himself or his political family. I write this on conviction that at all times, the right things should, at least, be done. Sadly, I will also not fail to mention that Nigerians are the major problem of Nigeria. This simply posits that Nigeria after all is a "nonliving personality". The life in Nigeria is donated by the citizens and when...

DESPAIR OF HONOUR. By KEMKA S. IBEJI

KEMKA S. IBEJI DESPAIR OF HONOUR Call it anything else Yes I despair It is on my honour Yes I despair They can wed They're not averse to togetherness They cohabit and inhabit Despair and honour They live in me Oh yes! They do Filled with hope I moved I joined the trudge to liberate The saunter for the good I hoped we could win As we win the tool of service Where are we? Envy came on call Enmity enjoyed her fun Like thieves booties are shared Our identity vanished as humans We're now tribes In tribes the cheating festered The hate blossomed And the dreams died I despair It's of honour Take me out I don't have of mine Our nation cries I don't enjoy the dirge Don't serve me any relish I'm not here for it I'm here for our people They hunger and thirst Their future smiles bleak The cries thunder Thanks to your joy The man or men From the West and North Our nation is shared Along winners and losers Whereve...

I SAW LOVE WITH MY EYES! By KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
KEMKA S. IBEJI  I SAW LOVE WITH MY EYES! I bled through my eyes They call it tears It flowed down joy I saw love with my eyes And now I see storm I was slapped by love And tears gushed down I never knew love had such hands Harshly sweet But they feelings are cool I could cry everlasting Give me more of this slaps That I may never stop crying It forgave my wrongs Paid me kindness for all my wickedness It soothes me when I'm hurt Hurt by my failed bad intents against it It tells me to stab it If only there lies my joy What a being so absurd Is this love? It gives me peace It gives me hope It gives me strength It gives me power It gives me authority It gives me pleasure But I've done all to hurt it It gives more and more good It minds less I saw love with my eyes Now I see blurred It's my sight across tears What a wonder to behold? It now seems I'll be possessed I think by the spirit of love Take me away I've lost all ...

HORRIBLE NIGERIA: THE TALE OF HOUSING AND THE LACE OF CORRUPTION! By KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
King David Estate Abuja Site  Most times I feel like losing my cool and hope on Nigeria. This is usually so as every hope dies with a new apostle. Those whom have sounded saintly turn more Satan when given the opportunity to make corrections. Recently I have wondered why it is very difficult for the poor to have a decent shelter over him or her in Nigeria. This keeps coming to me like a begging question and more with such unavoidable fuss. Why is housing a big challenge in Nigeria despite all the gracious policies and programs by the governments? Here in Nigeria we have Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Federal Staff Loans Board, National Housing  Fund (NHF), Accelerated Mass Housing Development Scheme, Primary Mortgage Institutions (PMIs), Mortgage Refinancing Institution (MRI) and lots more. Even with all these, Nigeria runs huge housing deficit in expanding habit. So instead of things getting better with the policies we are seeing things getting worse. It ...

LAGOS OF OUR TIME (I) Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
KEMKA S. IBEJI  LAGOS OF OUR TIME (I) It's Lagos The land of difference We heard about you Our feelings cried to see you Oh Lagos of our ears How amazing it was That its sounds cares our ears Its thought smiled all day Your stories thundered You were a heaven here Our ears are witnesses From yonder you rang loud Tales on experiences of old as told Time indeed serves understanding All we had was our understanding It was all Lagos of old Good morning Lagos From this time comes truth The truth and our ears They're now in enmity This is our case as we sojourn And now it is; Oh Lagos of our time The roads angrily bite our tyres Chewing with pounding heart The wind walk unkempt Spilling rubbish on all The rains from beneath don't smile They warn; don't eat me! We don't hear our goals Neither our goals either We jam at search Searching for each other We sound, they sound But we're now deaf Our lives are afraid But our le...

A THOUGHT ON PHILOSOPHY OF LAW: THE COMMAND SCHOOL IN THE PAN By KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
KEMKA S. IBEJI The COMMAND SCHOOL in jurisprudence will be so embarrassed to know that Law, as the command of the sovereign when divorced from morality shares no difference with the command of the criminal. This puts a deep cut on the throat of both the sovereign and the subjects. It simply means that even the sovereign is stripped of certainty of stool at any point in time as command can emanate from anywhere. This is the fastest journey back to the state of nature. Even the command of the armed robber blaring  in the banking hall and terrifying victims becomes a law. What then can we say of the terrorists? Are we not saying the same thing? Is law actually worthy of its salt when it doesn't serve morality? What is law without justice? The fear of Great Thinkers across the globe should be heightened by the justice as manufactured in Nigeria and maybe elsewhere. When technical knockout dazes even the puncher, we run on a bizarre adventure. Morality has been enslaved ...

THE EGRETS, HERDS AND HERDSMEN. By KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
KEMKA S. IBEJI  The egret was our friend The herds were our friends The herdsmen were our friends But they were fleeting friends. Like a company, we saw them While the herds roamed around Under the magical control of herders Egrets drove our fancy They had their job I think a very tasking one Taking away the pains Of lice, flies and more They did all at a go We could take joy in our sight This is our village experience As though the schools measured time Our dismissals were greeted by the trio They were all our friends in an accord The egrets gave us white finger nails Yes we sang in plea of that We were sure they were magnanimous Riding on the back of the herds As the herds moved about in freedom The herdsmen returned our jeers Aboki Nnama we chorused chasing them Aboki Nyamiri they returned countlessly We had the fun and they cheered their day What has happened to our friends? Once friends, now dreaded Like Solomon's dead child Were they cha...

Is it a curse to be African? By KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
I read with great dismay the news item from rocklandhousetv an article from one of the heroes of Ebola virus. The story line struck me with such astonishment that I have refused to stop asking myself many questions about Africa and her leadership. Are we really willing and ready to grow Africa beyond the relics of backwardness and ruins? Do our leaders nay politicians understand what sacrifice and dedication mean? Does it really make any sense to do anything good for Africa and Africans? Read the article that follows to examine yourself and the African child, thereafter turn to appraise our leadership. THE LAMENTATION OF A SCORNED HERO By rocklandhousetv “Four years later, African Union has remembered to present me and my colleagues with Medal of Honor for stopping Ebola in Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea – Omeni Korobia I dedicate this to Dr Stella A Adedevor and Justina Ejelonu. You guys are the real heroes, you died for us all. Adadevor stopped Sawyer . He ma...

Yahaya Adoza Bello and memories of Mohammed Abdulsalam Onuka. By Debo Alabi

Yahaya Adoza Bello and memories of Mohammed Abdulsalam Onuka By Debo Alabi Each time I see television reports, online videos and snippets from the actions, activities and pronouncements of Yahaya Adoza Bello, the governor of Kogi State, I cannot but draw comparisons between him and Mohamed Abdulsalam Onuka. Not many remember the latter, but he was a lieutenant colonel in the Nigerian Army, who was deployed to serve as military administrator of Edo State, during the administration of Gen Sani Abacha. In a state brimming with top class military talent across the services at the time, Abacha favoured the young Onuka at the time and made him chief executive of one of Nigeria's most politically sophisticated states. Just in case you have forgotten, Edo State is the home of Brig-Gen Samuel Osaigbovo, who as military governor of the Old Midwestern State, was easily one of the greatest success stories of the Yakubu Gowon dispensation. Edo State is also the birthplace of Admirals Au...

On Okorocha VS Jones Onyereri THE JURISPRUDENCE OF JUSTICE OKON ABANG'S JUDGMENT IN THE CASE OF ROCHAS OKOROCHA V. INEC & ORS AND WHAT IT PORTENDS FOR THE RULE OF LAW By Barr. Ekene Bob-Ekechukwu

On Okorocha VS Jones Onyereri THE JURISPRUDENCE OF JUSTICE OKON ABANG'S JUDGMENT IN THE CASE OF ROCHAS OKOROCHA V. INEC & ORS AND WHAT IT PORTENDS FOR THE RULE OF LAW By Barr. Ekene Bob-Ekechukwu Today being the 7th of June, 2019, our electoral law was mortified and our electoral processes endangered by the judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in FCT.  His Lordship, Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court Abuja ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue the hitherto withheld Certificate of Returns (CoR) for Owelle Rochas Okorocha to the Senate. According to the facts of the case as deposed to by the Respondents in their Affidavit, during the National Assembly Elections held last February, one Prof. Ibeawuchi ,the Returning Officer (RO)for the Orlu Zone Senatorial District made a formal complaint that he declared Rochas Okorocha winner of the elections under duress. As a result of the foregoing, the INEC withdrew the  CoR it ha...

AN ORGANISM ANNOUNCED ROCHAS OKOROCHA WINNER OF A SENATE SEAT IN IMO STATE. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

AN ORGANISM ANNOUNCED ROCHAS OKOROCHA WINNER OF A SENATE SEAT IN IMO STATE. Do we now ask God to save us from the Nigerian judiciary? If what we hear about the judgement in favour of Rochas Okorocha is true, it clearly send the message that there won't be any point campaigning in Nigerian elections anymore. All you need to do is just to get your criminals handy, kidnap and force the returning officer to announce you winner. The foregoing is an implication of any judicial pronouncement forcing INEC to issue Certificate of Return to Rochas Okorocha of Imo State. Human person is defined by the features and ingredients of freewill. It's for this reason that foetus and children who have not got discerning mind, the prisoners who have lost their freedom are not referred to as humans in the philosophy of human person. For this reason, it's also a dehumanization to unlawfully deprive anyone of his or her freedom. Freedom however is an intrinsic child of freewill and so d...

DIARY OF ABACHA'S LOOT.

Image
General Sani Abacha  DIARY OF ABACHA'S LOOT. Between November 17, 1993 and June 8, 1998 during which the late dictator, General Sani Abacha, held Nigeria in his vicious grip, he treated the treasury like a hapless cow being milked to death Abacha was not contented with raping the country through kickbacks from inflated contracts. He dipped his hands into the vaults of the Central Bank of Nigeria where the strong currencies of the United States of America and British held out great attraction for him. On March 25, 1994 alone, Abacha stole $37.6 million from the Central Bank of Nigeria. Ismaila Gwarzo, his National Security Adviser (NSA), was his main pointsman in looting the Central Bank of Nigeria. Gwarzo told a Special Investigation (SIP), set up by President Olusegun Obasanjo's regime that he sent his Special Assistant to the bank between June 1996 and October 1997 to collect a total sum of $456 million and £232 million for Abacha. The breakdown of the money ...

ROCHAS' GOVERNMENT HOUSE, OWERRI: A TALE OF GLITTERING EXTERIORS AND STINKY INTERIORS By Ogu Bundu Nwadike, M.A

Image
PHOTOSPEAK: INSIDE DOUGLAS HOUSE, OWERRI, FRIDAY MAY 31, 2019! The Imo State governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha sees a very dirty side of Government House, Owerri. Photos courtesy of Ihedioha New Media Centre 31/5/19! ROCHAS' GOVERNMENT HOUSE, OWERRI: A TALE OF GLITTERING EXTERIORS AND STINKY INTERIORS By Ogu Bundu Nwadike, M.A The English say, "Clear conscience fears no accusations". But guilt always has a way of exposing its victims. Yet, as they say, "He who is on the ground fears no fall". But while the insane person never feels shame, his kith and kin are flabbergasted and overwhelmed by shame. The evil that men do, lives both with them and after them. There is no peace for the wicked! The ex-governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, may have gone away from his office in Douglas House, but the evidence of physical dirt, decay and stench he left behind at Government House, Owerri declare him guilty as charged. All his crass display of opul...

INGRATITUDE OF NIGERIA AND NIGERIANS TO FORMER PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO! By KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
INGRATITUDE OF NIGERIA AND NIGERIANS TO FORMER PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO! Most times people suffer in their amazement with confusion as to why they suffer. When you suffer and feel astonished as to the reason for your suffering, please look once again in your direction first. Ingratitude is one curse that hangs on for a lasting time. But gratitude is a blessing, is cheering and is fulfilling. Gratitude is a virtue and it enlarges whoever that abides by it. Since ingratitude is a burden, I think Nigeria and Nigerians are under serious burden at the moment from their ingratitude to Former President Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo. In 1999, Nigeria was panting heavily on the weight of the international debt on the country which amounted to over $30 billion. Obasanjo paid off the Nigerian debt of such excruciating weight and got us freedom from debt. Obasanjo went ahead and saved up for Nigeria the sum of $60 Billion which allowed Nigeria the opportunity to grow her economy in var...

Short History of Political Betrayals in APGA. By Victor Chigozie Eneh

Short History of Political Betrayals in APGA. Politics di egwu. APGA was registered on June 2002 by Chekwas Okorie. On December 2002, Ojukwu joined APGA from APP. By 2004, Chief Victor Umeh conspired with Ojukwu and Peter Obi and they overthrew chief Chekwas Okorie in a bloodless coup at a hotel in Enugu. After the coup, chief Maxi Okwu who was the deputy national chairman south, and next to take over in the absence of Chekwas Okorie was deceived by Umeh and Peter Obi to join them against Chekwas. Maxi Okwu joined and went to court to testify against Chekwas thinking that he would emerge the national chairman of APGA. But he was used and dumped. Umeh in conspiracy with Ojukwu and Obi announced himself national chairman from the position of Treasurer. Chekwas Okorie fought APGA up to the Supreme court but lost due to external forces that had interest in APGA. Umeh became the national chairman of APGA for 13 years. But in 2012, Peter Obi fell out with Umeh. As the then g...
