A Bianfran Soldier Branded Armed Robber by the Nigerian Army and Wickedly Executed after the Nigerian Civil War

APRIL 1972: It was during the regime of General Yakubu Gowon, Nigeria’s military wartime leader and the law in place for convicted armed robbers was nothing but death by the firing squad. Thus it happened in April 1972 that a young man named Stanley Enekwe was convicted of armed robbery and he was to be shot to death. The place was Ajalli, near Awka in the then East-Central State (that part is now Anambra State). Enekwe’s public execution was scheduled but something really spectacular happened. In those days, families and relatives usually avoided the scene of public execution because they believed that the accused had brought overwhelming shame to their name and disgrace upon the entire family. However, that was not the case with Stanley Enekwe’s father. UNCONDITIONAL LOVE:   Stanley Enekwe’s father with his son during his last moments. INTRODUCTION Man has come to find himself in existence. This was not out of his decision but he has received it. He has also come to live with others in the society. The implication to the foregoing is that man should co-habit with others in the society. STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Across the world today are crises, skirmishes and wars. Life has loosed value and death has become practically common. Those who have some form of respect for life shrink at the development of global disaffection to the hitherto exaltations in terms of life and its worth. Thinking this way might provoke some kind of smiles of askance at dedication and acceptance of currency with regard to interest, poise, pursuit, goal and meaning. The meaning, of course, is essentially of our nascent understanding, appreciation and value of life in relation to human kind. This raises a problem to ponder upon: what is the relationship between humanity and war? In trying to fix this puzzle, we will unfailingly stumble on further issues as the nature of human person, humanism, the goal of human life and its pursuits, human understanding and knowledge, war, its causes and assumed importance.           OBJECTIVE OF STUDY Paying attention to the current spate of occurrences, on

Sir, your 53 rd Independence Broadcast is historic to indicate what I will want to call the POSITIVE AMALGAMATION . Just as your administration has been historic in very many ways, you are on the path of making a great history for our nation in getting a new and ‘Nigerian people’s interest considered’ amalgamation and on that note, I take up my pen to write assistance to you in this PAX-NIGERIANA. As you announce the formation of the national dialogue, I render my humble self available to assist you on the complementary (but subtle) task for you to strongly stamp this most fundamental history book; NATIONAL CONSCIOUSNESS AND IDENTITY PROJECT .
