OZOMKPU VICTOR OYE'S LEADERSHIP AND THE COLLAPSE OF APGA. By Ifeanyi Chilagorom

Image
All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) as a political party in Nigeria, was found by Chief Chekwas Okorie in collaboration with a few leaders especially from the Igbo extraction. In 2003, Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu was made her presidential candidate to attract Igbo population into APGA. It was bandied that APGA was for the growth and development of Igbo nation. Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu became the face of APGA as Igbos trooped into the party.  As a matter of fact, there was a time in Nigerian politics when APGA was trying to take over almost all the Southeastern states. Every candidate produced by APGA during any election was seen as a competent, reliable and people oriented person and he/she must not have any corrupt record. The Igbo political elites and the masses used APGA as an umbrella to produce decent, competent, trustworthy and capable politicians who understood the exact problems of the people. APGA was growing as a national party but with regional strong

A son of Oghara in Delta State of Nigeria. A SUCCESS GUIDE FOR YOUNG AND WOULD BE ENTREPRENEURS. By KEMKA S. IBEJI

Make money, get rich and wealthy Talking to young people these days has turned one of my serious areas of focus. I have chosen this vocation because of what it has to do for our people and our society as the days go by. One can simply say that I have ventured into mentoring program for the young people. I didn't address it as mentoring but every meaning is in context. Perhaps my recent concentration is a foray into mentoring. Born in a moderate home where people will think it is all rosy for you most times comes with a huge challenge. Many who are also born into lower homes have also complained about the same challenge that most perceived rich children a faced with. The truth is, the world is a playground for all and opportunities abound for everyone. Most times I have seen graduates who left school for years roaming the streets seeking for jobs. A lot of them were actually the best students while in school. A lot of them get despaired and start growing issues around the

MORALITY, LAW AND RELIGION: A DISCORDANT SYMPHONY AND A DISORDERED CHOREOGRAPHY! By KEMKA S. IBEJI

MORALITY, LAW AND RELIGION: A DISCORDANT SYMPHONY AND A DISORDERED CHOREOGRAPHY! Religion and the Law were birthed for the health and safety of morality. Morality is that pedestal upon which we segregate the good from the bad and the right from the wrong. While on the one hand morality thrives on Categorical Imperative, the others - religion and law - operate on the frequency of Hypothetical Imperative. Defining both imperatives in the parlance of the German philosopher Immanuel Kant, "Categorical Imperative would be assertions which represent action(s) as objectively necessary in itself apart from its relation to a further end. And Hypothetical Imperative however are those that declare a possible action to be practically necessary as a means to the attainment of something else..." (Copiously quoted from Andrew F. Uduigwomen). From the foregoing, the inference is that Categorical Imperatives simply outline moral codes or just state good and bad actions but nothing mo

MY LITTLE WORRY ABOUT BIAFRA (EPISODE II). By KEMKA S. IBEJI

Having been at the forefront of Igbo agenda for few years now starting from my undergraduate days in the University, I have come to realize certain things that have kept me more worried than ever about the Igbo nation. All along, it seemed we have been engaged in a movement but have never bothered to know either our steps, our timing or our plans. It merely seems we only know our destination. However, it would have not been a problem as it has become now if we actually know our destination. Perhaps one would have been consoled with or by the Machiavellian maxim of "the end justifying the means". I got more worried when I turned around to ask my friends in the struggle questions on our assumed destination. Honestly, no one seems to know for sure where we are headed. It is obvious that everyone seems to know what light is till you are asked "what is light? ". I am sure almost everybody will begin to understand the need for details. It is for this reason that I

My Little Worry About Biafra (Episode I). By KEMKA S. IBEJI

MY LITTLE WORRY ABOUT BIAFRA (EPISODE 1) The problem with most of our brothers and sisters who are agitating for Biafra especially through IPOB is that they have failed to sit back and think. They are more emotional than rational in their agitation. What are the processes and procedures for nationalism? Yes! We have fought a war and we're still experiencing the bad effects without the desired result. These folks don't do any research, they don't discuss issues relating to their ambition for Biafra hence no cross-fertilization of ideas. How will they even know or learn the way forward? It is becoming a more worrisome situation. I am, KEMKA S. IBEJI

FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF JURIDICAL LOGIC: THE APC INELIGIBILITY ARGUMENT OF ATIKU ABUBAKAR AND THE BURDEN OF VALIDITY. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

KEMKA S .IBEJI FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF JURIDICAL LOGIC: THE APC INELIGIBILITY ARGUMENT OF ATIKU ABUBAKAR AND THE BURDEN OF VALIDITY As much I see the APC argument of Atiku Abubakar's eligibility as an educating outing, I seem not to see it being useful to the matter at hand. While it looks valid on the face value that Atiku Abubakar is not a citizen by birth and therefore not eligible to contest for the hallowed position of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria since to be such one must be citizen by birth, many issues are awakening. Some of the questions crying for legal answer from our dear legal personages are; 1. To what country did the Northern Cameroon belong from 1960 till the 1961 referendum? 2. In what country was the Southern Cameroon before the 1961 referendum? 3. At what point did the Southern Cameroon become Cameroonians? Before or after the referendum? 4. Since the Northern Cameroonians chose not to change citizenship from where they ha

AS THE MOVEMENT FOR IGBO PRESIDENCY 2023 BEGINS: DO NOT BE FOUND WANTING. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

KEMKA S. IBEJI  AS THE MOVEMENT FOR IGBO PRESIDENCY 2023 BEGINS: DO NOT BE FOUND WANTING. When I declared my next political engagement as the pursuit of Igbo presidency come 2023, many of our people responded that it is a mission impossible. Though I responded to them that "We may never know till we try" but I recall now an Igbo adage which says "onye eziri ozi ka ya jee gwa umu nna ya, Ya diri na ha agaghi ekwe, Ya onwe ya okwele?". For those who are yet to understand the Igbo adage, it simply translates; "a man who is sent an errand to his people and he declared that his people will not agree; has himself  agreed?". The first step to victory is to step out courageously. Igbos are known for bravery. To say that it is impossible for an Igbo man or woman to rule Nigeria as the President is to play by the rules of the oppressors.  The movement is simple; Igbo Presidency 2023 or Nigeria is declaring Biafra by herself. Remember the game that if

HATRED IN COHABITATION: THE IGBOS IN RELATIONSHIP WITH ESPECIALLY THE HAUSA/FULANI AND THE YORUBA. By KEMKA S. IBEJI

HATRED IN COHABITATION: THE IGBOS IN RELATIONSHIP WITH ESPECIALLY THE HAUSA/FULANI AND THE YORUBA The habitation of Nigeria by Igbos and especially Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba is so unfriendly that they want Igbos dead but won't let them be independent in Biafra. We seems to be living on a borrowed time; the next war might be the deadliest on the planet. This bothers me more as to how folks will relish cohabitation with their dreaded enemies. You won't let them stay and won't let them go. This dilemma is fraught with disastrously potentials. Though here is a world of opposites and the constant dualism of existence where paradoxes, antithesis, ironies are replete, I strongly feel that something does not rhyme. I can smell something amiss. It is either the relationship is for destruction or one existing on cheat. In other words, it is either they are keeping the Igbos in Nigeria as poultry for the festival or they are milking the Igbos as parasites. In whichever way it

THE CONCEPT OF IVU MBEMBE OR IGBA OSHI IN IGBO TRADITIONAL PENAL CODE: A POSSIBLE PREDICAMENT OF OWELLE ROCHAS OKOROCHA AND HIS FAMILY - written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

As the family shares Imo THE CONCEPT OF IVU MBEMBE OR IGBA OSHI IN IGBO TRADITIONAL PENAL CODE: A POSSIBLE PREDICAMENT OF OWELLE ROCHAS OKOROCHA AND HIS FAMILY The return of ivu mbembe and the predicament of Rochas Anayo Ethelbert Okorocha and family. Ivu mbembe or Igba Oshi is the negative responsibility borne by someone who has offended morality in the traditional Igbo penal system. In the simplest definition, ivu mbembe is the act of putting an offender to public shame and ridicule. The contractors on site  Those who have lived in Igbo cultural milieu would have come in contact with the experience where someone is stripped naked, adorned with palm fronts and paraded round the town till the market square. Most times you would see goat, rubbers of yam or cassava, fowl or something else tied to the person being paraded. Ivu mbembe is usually carried out on thieves, those who sleep another man's wife, those who committed incest or some taboo and any other sacrile
