THE FICKLE BLIND BIRD: NIGERIA. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

This poor blind bird jumps It hops in and out of every bad Landing on spittle and wormwood Holding fast at all darb dirt Feasting on worms of wrongs Gasping helplessly  But none comes to rescue It knows not its own and count A city of all and all negatives Teaching the rejectable Breeding morally reprehensibly Thieves, cheats, robbers, all outlaws Now the abode of murderers The very best of all worsts The citizens are the real pictures Of self hate and self destruction Giving power to their enemies To those who think everything Just once they're against the people They're their real choice Wise in all things wrong Capricious conglomerate Gathering of strangers Lovers of their fractures Worshippers of their shackles Magnifiers of their condemnable Choristers unto their graves Why will this blind bird flirt? Fluttering in filthiest ponds Without shame it smiles Such smiles that curries disdain This fickle blind bird! When shall we sing your praise? Or when do we say goodbye; Good

NIGERIAN BICAMERALISM AND THE ARGUMENT OF POSSIBLE UNICAMERALISM: THE ISSUE OF COST REDUCTION IN GOVERNANCE. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

The decisions made by the nationalists who birthed independent Nigeria were largely on principles and ideology. Thereafter, it has all been sentiments and emotional. How can people agitate for unicameralism  as against bicameralism. Those who had bite on a little study of primary government in secondary school education will understand the need, merits and advantages of bicameralism over unicameralism. It might, at this point, be necessary to explain what both concepts mean. When we mention unicameralism and bicameralism, we are just talking about the legislature or law making arm of the government of any institution or state. State here also connotes country or nation with sovereignty or quasi sovereignty, as the case may be. By the way, the legislature is that arm of government that is saddled with the responsibility of making laws for the people and the land. Although the judiciary can as well make laws through judicial precedence and the executives by somehow by Executive Orders, i

COMPARING MR. PETER OBI AND RT. HON. EMEKA IHEDIOH: A LEADERSHIP COMPARISON SERIES. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
Rt. Hon. Ihedioha & Mr. Peter Obi I got interested on this topic while reading comments on a post agitating for a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction ala the popular IGBO PRESIDENCY 2023. Someone was saying that Mr. Peter Obi is more popular than Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha while a few others were of the opinion that Mr. Peter Obi was  more gifted with leadership skills than, far above Emeka Ihedioha but, every Igbo man or woman in politics today and so should be placed at the first rung on the ladder of choice for an Igbo Presidency. This is my argument and line of thoughts about the matter of discourse.  Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha is as popular as Peter Obi. It is a commonplace knowledge that some sections of the country will never vote for Peter Obi even when they are convinced that he is the best. Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha However, Emeka Ihedioha has national prominence having been a former Deputy Speaker and Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives. His consistency in partisan

GOV. DAVE UMAHI HAS TAKEN THE BULL BY THE HORN. Written by CHIEF CHEKWAS OKORIE

Image
Chief Chekwas Okorie I followed with keen interest the build up to the ultimate decision of Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State to pitch his political tent with the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. His statewide consultations and the 7 days ultimatum given to the National Executive Committee  (NEC ) of the PDP to convene its meeting and zone the Party's 2023 Presidential slot to the South East, by the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly were deft political moves with admirable wisdom.  Nobody expected the PDP with its well established disdain for Ndigbo to spare a thought for the Igbo quest for the presidency of Nigeria on its platform. The PDP from its inception has always taken Ndigbo for granted. Upon the expiration of the ultimatum about 5 weeks ago, it became clear that a political dispute between the PDP and its teeming members in the South East has been declared. The implication of this dispute is that the PDP cannot successfully approach any Court to challenge

20TH OF BLOOD! Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

The heavens braced with tears The rocks trembled aimlessly The sky got gloom and shy And fame was set to defame  Then they came with shame Yes! The world will They will honour the young Those who've just done noble They lifted hope and sank fears What is historic even to heroes And Lekki Gate they Toll was the garden The souls of young Nigerians were planted And their blood watered the future of all Those were the heroes and not victims The nation is put into mourning It's by those who ought keep them safe The throne and the vigil men They took the lives of their keepers Casting away lights out of lives It's a harrowing shame! These young people are innocent They prayed for dear country Wearing courage as garments They called for justice They prayed for equality They asked for purity of service Requesting life from their fatherland  But all they got is death What a father kills his own child Even with mouth full of the sound That sound is echoing father  Even as she calls h

THE EDO DYNAMICS AND THE SLIPPERY GAME... Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

It's delusional for the PDP to assume they won Edo State 2020 Governorship Election by the popularity and acceptability of the political party. No! Edo election is a national statement against a strand of politics that works in Lagos and nowhere else. It exposed to more people that Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu is overrated and so numb to the feelings and political pulse of the hoi polloi. Edo is not Lagos is supposed to be a very big information and tool to the APC against 2023. The signals are very easy to interpret. However, unless the PDP engages tacticians, their victory in Edo 2020 is a big bait and fat poison ingested for death in 2023. The details of the Edo election will be a huge misguidance to political neophytes and speculators. It will do so on both camps. Nevertheless, I strongly believe that both the APC and PDP will dissolve into new platforms which will feed on the powers of political leadership redistribution and realignments. The APC will never hand over to the PDP

AND THE GIANT SERVANT WAS BORN! Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

His Eminence, Elder (Dr.) Isaac Bello  He is the Dean of the National Headquarters Annex Cathedral (NHAC) Abuja and the seat of His Most Eminence. In the jargon of the Holy Order, he is the Elder-in-Charge of this great cathedral. In the words of the father of the golden age of western philosophy - Socrates - "An unexamined life is not worth living" and he went further with the ethical axiom; "Man know thyself". And so it's a time for reexamination and identity reinvisioning. Elder Bello & Board Members  Here is a teacher (Rabbi), a Pastor of the Lord's flock, an Evangelist of repute and of the word,  an Apostle and a General of God's order. A member of the inner circle of the Holy Order, a meek giant, a loving father and a cheering shepherd. He indeed is a quintessential remark of God's mystery of creation, a creature of service, lover of the word and a strong believer of God's arts. He prays for all and especially our home. FUEL SUBSIDY: MY YES AND NO ABOUT IT. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
I took so much time to join the argument about the concept of subsidy in the Oil and Gas sector of our country's economy. I have severally caught myself saying yes and no to the same question of subsidy and the reasons are here and this; they were both logical and emotional. When I said NO, it was coming from my deep reasoning about our country and citizens. I could find out that in all our blessings with the natural resources, Nigerians have not and cannot place hands on any tangible benefits to the common citizens of Nigeria except the subsidy. It was a direct way of giving the resources back to the people or some form of palliative to the masses and even in a more refined manner than the Trader Moni shared around in cash by any government, especially now. What is this subsidy after all? Subsidy means that the government is paying some percentage of the cost of Oil and Gas products used by the citizens. That is to say that, assuming that the actual price of petrol is #24

KEMKA IBEJI VICTORY ORGANIZATION (KIVORG): OUR PHILOSOPHY AND OUR RESOLVE Editorial

It was a tough one for us as we crisscrossed the nooks and crannies of Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise Federal Constituency spreading our wish and whims for our people. We outlined our manifesto and led our people through the letters. It was all for their good and that of generations unborn. We tendered our cards for the people to make their choice. We have also remained grateful to them for whatever the outcome was as we are aware that many felt bad at the outcome while many applauded it. All things work together for good. It may have started way back sometime in 2016. We continued gathering our team and shaping up our philosophy. We pursued that dream till February, 2019. Yes, others in the Governorship and State House of Assembly went ahead till March, 2019. Good or bad, our people made their decision. It may have not ended the way of our mind but as a group who came on a mission which was for the good of the people, we couldn't cry more than the bereaved. Our ambition was for the

COVID-19 IN THE WAR OF HUMANITY AGAINST HUMANITY. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
The social media response to the awareness by Dr. Stella Emmanuel has allowed me a little research into hydroxychloroquine, SARS COV 2 (that's Covid-19) and the issues surrounding this pandemic. Thanks to that opportunity. We all can do a little of the research by our individual selves to find out more. We can also Google "France Soir Hydroxychloroquine" and read more for our better understanding and perhaps to make a bit of informed contributions in the discussion on the raging pandemic. The clear truth is that the randomized clinical trial of the hydroxychloroquine which is widely held was controlled experiment which result was premeditated. The hydroxychloroquine administered to the patients, in my understanding, were overdose. And the usual and popular effects of overdose of hydroxychloroquine is acute respiratory collapse which shares similarity of symptoms with the Covid-19. So by overdosing the patients, the known accelerated death was necessary and such exp

ADAMANT DEATH! Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

It's got no chills This adamant death Do you know I've waited Waiting that it says bye Bye to you for a return here Here it's remained adamant? But this prey chokes it You're a poisonous prey Of course our love for you It's kept hunting death Even death is near death But it's simply adamant I've waited on your wisdom Perhaps you could trick it Come away from its grip Is it smarter or what? Just doesn't think anything Holding down and fast When will you wake Dede? Have you let it win you? Please don't surrender! Can you look back at all? The army of love to abandon? Oh adamant death! Power! Did you just bow to death? Still can't believe it'll happen Get up and run back! This adamant thing fists tighter We're strong here to fight But you seem down and won Even death is now weak It's indeed a tough fight Surely it regrets; yes it does When the trumpet sounds On that glorious morning When death sl

NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT AND LEADERSHIP: THE NONCREATIVE, UNTHINKING CLASS AND THE LOOMING (NEW) GENERATION OF IDIOTS. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

KEMKA S. IBEJI  I have agreed with my heart never to place it so strongly on having Nigeria get better, by all means possible. This is not to suggest in any way that I will stop advancing measures, strategies, ideas and views to ensure that our country becomes a place worthy of humans of excellence. No! But putting all my mind and strength to it and forcing same down the throat of the nation may be injurious to my mind because I have seen many disappointments in this and having my heart placed on it will be most unhealthy and disastrous. So for my health and the good of Nigeria, I shall distance myself from the problems and carefully tender whatever I have as a prophylactic. It will therefore be the duty of those in positions to either use or trash them. In this manner, my thoughts on keeping these problems far away from my emotional heart and maintaining some degree of dispassionate stance will most certainly be the best way to go. How else better can you think about Nigeria wh

CHIEF JOHN IWUALA: DON'T TAKE OUR PEOPLE TO GOLGOTHA! Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
KEMKA S. IBEJI  Dear Chief John Iwuala, Oye is a shameless, worthless, valueless and mindless idiot. Not just him but those who lead APGA. I use this language on them and I you know I clearly know the meaning. Don't lie to our people in the name of building APGA. If only it is something within your control, I would not mind. You don't and will never be responsible for what will happen to the people you are preparing their heads for rituals. Who will their bloods be on? Definitely not you. But who? God will never forgive me if I keep quiet here as you are amassing our people for destruction. You know you can't doubt my knowledge of what I'm saying here. You don't and will never have control of the safety of those you are calling into this damnation called APGA. Why are you doing this Chief John Iwuala? Who sent you to gather our people for mass rape, dehumanisation, violation, dismemberment and desacralization? APGA is an Anambra cult and that'

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PHILOSOPHY TO WEALTH CREATION, LABOUR MARKET AND THE ECONOMY: THE PHILOSOPHY GRADUATE AND SKILLS. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
KEMKA S. IBEJI  Apart from lecturing, how can philosophy earn you a living in the current economical settings in Nigeria? It is the above question that tickled my fancy in writing this piece. This question was raised somewhere among graduates of philosophy and it became important for me to help out especially the young ones in this little way. Of course, many of us who graduated from philosophy classrooms, at one point or the other, had to grapple with this challenge. It also defines, to a greater extent, the possibility of success of each young school leaver. Many who could not efficiently answer the question have had more challenges along the way as they will keep stumbling by on frustrations and confusions. The following is my little contribution; Philosophy is not a professional discipline and so has no specialization on any particular purview. It is at best, a general foray into the world of reality which pervades all human endeavours. What philosophy does in essence is t

ON STATE GOVERNMENTS PAYMENT OF SALARIES AND PENSIONS - IMO STATE GOVERNMENT IN FOCUS Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
I have most respectfully read views across sections and camps as the divide of government and opposition determines. I will however choose to respond to leaders in the government quarters of the moment. This is to say that my response is more in addressing the position held by the supporters of the present government in Imo State. Many of them have argued especially that upon the dwindling economic fortunes of Nigeria, it has become practically impossible to to pay the salaries of Civil Servants and pensions to pensioners. For them, the FAAC share of Imo State has made it unrealistic and impracticable. In reply to the above avowals of the sympathizers of Imo State government of the day and, by extension, all debtor governments like Imo State, I say this; I think it is by this very clear as to why we fail in government here in Nigeria and, perhaps Africa. We see leadership only and exclusively from the perspective and prisms of power and its grabbing. For this reason we

THE POVERTY OF A DYING BIG COUNTRY; NIGERIA OF THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

Image
I wish to begin this piece by thanking the anonymous writer who woke my mind and tickled my attention to this area of our nation and national life and history. The unnamed author was able to make a thought provoking outline of Nigeria and her economy in the 1980s. And the following is largely from that writer though with modifications being mine. The writer began by asking us not to be surprised to know that Nigeria was by far better in the 80s than today. According to the writer, in 1980 the key metric are as follows: 1) we are a net exporter of refined petroleum products. Today we import all our refined petroleum products. 2) We ride in locally assembled cars, buses and trucks. Peugeot cars in Kaduna and Volkswagen cars in Lagos. Leyland in Ibadan and ANAMCO in Enugu produce our buses and trucks. Steyr at Bauchi producing our Agricultural tractors. And it is not just Assembly, we were producing many of the components. Vono products in Lagos producing the seats. Exide
