A LAYMANS GUIDE OUT OF THE RECESSION. Written by Chief Chibuzo N. Ziggy Azike, Ksc.

A LAYMANS GUIDE OUT OF THE RECESSION This is a guide or road map by a man, whose knowledge of such “esoteric” science like Economics was learnt on the streets of the world; so calling me streetwise could be quite descriptive; lets go at how I think Nigeria can get out of the present economic quagmire and degraded Naira. First; lets rescue the Naira; CHANGE THE CURRENCY No, not all the denominations but the ₦500 and ₦1000. We read the gory tales of how one of our former Military Chiefs would order his military accountant/pay master to exchange more than ₦800 million for dollars and other currencies every month end; we have heard about the soakaways and water tanks filled with Naira; we have heard about how the security details of one high ranking politician carted away more than ₦300 Million cash in one fell swoop; all our money that is stolen at the Local Governments Level, embezzled at the State Governments, parastatals and all the MDA’s; All the pillaging and purloining, div

HOW IGBO APGA MEMBERS CAN SUPPORT WINNING EDO GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

HOW IGBO APGA MEMBERS CAN SUPPORT WINNING EDO GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION We need a rally or face to face chat with Igbos in Edo state. Statistics hold that 48% of the 1.9 million PVC holders  in Edo State are Igbos. That amounts to about 912,000 voters. I bet you that the winner of Edo State gubernatorial election will not get up to 400,000 votes. The clear fact is that with the slogan that APGA is Igbo party alone, Edo state will be comfortably won. I know that the slogan is no more fashionable in APGA since it is a national party but it can be accepted just for this purpose since all we want is to gain power in Edo state. Like our debate the last time on that slogan, certain view held that APGA should be sold to all tribes and ethnic groups in Nigeria with such idea. What that simply means is that we are giving ownership of the party to the local people. Like we have severally asserted, Edo state is possible. We have been on ground and we know that we just need a little more w

APGA COMMITS TO WINNING EDO STATE, FORMS CRACKDOWN TEAM. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

In what seems a political assault to diminish the importance of the insignificant few who left the party's executive in Edo State some days ago, the National leadership of APGA has constituted a team of political experts to manage the campaigns of her candidate in the Edo gubernatorial election. The team tagged AD-HOC COMMITTEE FOR EDO GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION was commissioned with a mandate to put in everything to deliver the party's flagbearer Earl Osaro Onaiwu as the Governor of Edo State in the near election. Unveiling the crackdown team for the Edo capture, the National Chairman said; "Because of the importance of the Edo governorship  election and the impact we have made in the Edo State, particularly after our last memorable visit, it has become necessary to set up an interim election committee to oversee the affairs of the party in the state until after the rescheduled governorship election". He continued "This step has become inevitable considering

EDO ELECTION: THE IGBO FACTOR By EMEKA NWAGWUNA

EDO ELECTION: THE IGBO FACTOR By EMEKA NWAGWUNA As campaigns leading up to the September 28th Edo gubernatorial election reaches feverish pitch, so many factors will definitely determine the outcome. Prominent among them is the number of registered Igbo voters in Edo state. INEC’s record reveals that the number of registered Igbo voters constitute about 48% of total registered voters in Edo. The implications of this figure are copious and have the capacity of determining who emerges winner in the September elections. Igbos in Edo must be united in a concerted effort with other Edo progressives to take advantage of this demography so that the candidate that will best serve their interest emerges victorious. For instance, it is true that Igbos are kings of trade and commerce in Nigeria. Therefore any government whether state or federal that neglects this existential fact by not making plans for trade and commerce to thrive is directly marginalizing Ndigbo. This is the exact sta

SALLAH: ONAIWU SUES FOR PEACE AND SACRIFICE. By The SOLUTION TEAM

The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2016 Governorship Election in Edo State, Earl Osaro Onaiwu has called on Muslims in the State to pray for the emancipation of Edo State from the scourge of bad leadership that has affected its progress since 1999. The governorship candidate made the call in a Sallah message signed by one of his media aides, Mr. Christopher Okagbare to mark this year's Eid-El-Kabir celebraions across the state. He said Edo State has been plagued with the menace of self serving leaders which has plunged the state into a critical economic situation. He called on the Muslim communities in Edo State to come together and play an active role in rescuing and building a better Edo State where development will thrive. Mr. Onaiwu commended Muslims in the state for living in harmony with their Christian brothers and sisters. He asked the Muslim Umrah in Edo State to consolidate on the prevailing peace they have maintained in the state over

APGA Gubernatorial Candidate and His Campaign Team Attacked by The APC Thugs in Edo State.

How much enlightenment has the APC leadership in Edo State bequeathed to her membership especially on the nuisance fronts and cubicles? This is a question that has occupied the minds of the most reasonable supporters of APGA and her very noble and peaceful Governorship candidate in Edo State. This mental inquisition has preoccupied all good thinking humans as moments ago, APGA governorship campaign trail was senselessly attacked by suspected thugs loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Etsako West LGA. After addressing the good people of the LGA, the respectable supporters and party faithfuls, some unidentified young men wielding dangerous weapons ambushed our team. I must commend the gallantry of one of the mobile policemen attached to us who resisted efforts made by the thugs to disarm him of his weapon. Unfortunately, he was beaten to pulp as well as some members of our team. We were compelled to scamper to safety, where we sought refuge under a military check point st

IZU-OMAM: An Angel of Light By KEMKA S. IBEJI

I know no nights anymore My heart lit the paths intensely Even along the darkest nights The glow is never imagined The wonder rouses my thoughts Whence is this mystery? It is from my heart the lights come This has never always been From the day you tore the iron bars Trudged across the guarded gate Made yourself an abode therein Since your presence here in my heart I know no nights anymore.

MY SUPPORT FOR MUHAMMADU BUHARI...r

Even as a student activist I had a brand for myself. Yes we used to. That brand brought me close to some great friends and associates. Many of them I find doing good and succeeding in their various choices of endeavour. Some of them have also maintained that political moral standard while some have caved in for environmental pressures surrounding our political atmosphere. It is a pity. Sometimes I have advised myself to rather pity such situation than blame them. Without blowing my own trumpets, I vowed not to yield but more to it is that I continually meditate against the advances and urge. From 1999, the PDP won political power in Nigerian and have done their best within the timeframe. I didn't really give my full support to them since I firstly was averse to their type of politics and secondly because I've not been partisan. The history of my distance with the PDP dates back to their unacceptable form party primaries in 1998/99 between Former President Olusegun Obasan
