THIS GENERATION OF SOUTHEAST HAS NO MEN. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

It's important we keep some of these documents for the future. This senator boy just re-echoed what people like Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Emeka Ihedioha and the rest of them have been telling the rest of the Southeast. They know it's not true but they prefer their convenience. They are selling their land with their own people as gratis.

Those supporting Atiku Abubakar in the Southeast are saying he will hand over to the Southeast after his term in office. Funny as annoying!

When it was the turn of the North in 2019, the entire Southeast filed behind Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Peter Obi joined him and gave huge voice and value to his ticket.

This is after the PDP messed the entire Igbo race up by using and dumping Dr. Alex Ekwueme for Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo who just got out of prison. So the Igbos left the front seat to the back bench and were asked to wait for their turn.

After 8 years of Obasanjo power automatically went to the North with the late Umar Musa Yar'adua. And when he unfortunately died, Goodluck Jonathan took over power to complete the tenure but he continued thereafter. Most of us argued that it wasn't right but he was supported to continue. We know those from Igbo land who supported GEJ to continue. Well, he did and reigned for about 6 years but failed on his way to 10 and power returned to the North. PDP set the rule.

Atiku Abubakar got support from many of us against GEJ but gate played out and Muhammadu Buhari got into power and ruled Nigeria for two full rounds of 4 years totaling 8 solid and unbroken years. The North have done their turn and it has to get back to the South.

Back to the South, the APC followed the rule of rotation set afloat by the PDP and zoned to the South. Yes, it was for the South but it should have been clearly captured as Southeast because it was actually their turn.

The South is made up of Southwest, Southsouth and the Southeast. If the Southwest has done 8 years through President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Southsouth has done 6 years with President Goodluck Jonathan, why should anyone from the other flanks of the South aspire to the presidency again when the Igbos haven't had their turn?

It was the mischief of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the APC and he shoved off the likes of Dr. Ogbonnaya Ọnụ and other eminent Igbo sons who raised their hands. It was also the conspiracy of the rest of the country, especially within the APC, to agree to the zoning southwards but disagree to the truth that adequacy declares Southeast as the deserving zone.

If the APC was right to disown the policy of micro-zoning to the Southeast as the thing of the PDP, is PDP also right to repudiate their own convention? Alhaji Atiku Abubakar kept mute and never stood up for the Southeast that gave him everything.

You all and everyone else should remember that it was this same Atiku Abubakar who denied Dr. Alex Ekwueme the Presidential Ticket of the PDP in 1998/99. The history is there for all and it's bright as the morning Star. Atiku Abubakar dealt the blow to the Southeast denying Dr. Alex Ekwueme of the Presidential Ticket of the PDP in Jos convention of 1998.

The same Atiku Abubakar returned to the Southeast in 2019 telling the Southeast that he is the shortest route of the Southeast to Aso Rock. Most of us believed him and spread the message. The Southeast gave him all the support and contributions to make sure he won but he failed.

In 2023 when it was so obvious even to the blind that it was the turn of the Southeast, the man who told them that he was their shortest route to the Villa turned round and started contesting against their turn. He did this after keeping quiet and weakened the voice of the Southeast craving for their rights. He surfaced and was struggling for what belonged to his friend but not for the benefit of his friend; he was just fighting to take what belonged to his so-called friends - the Southeast.

Many sons and daughters of the Southeast who were seen as bastions of courage and worthy of emulation eventually turned deaf, dumb and dead. Instead, some of them began to rationalize the reason for Atiku Abubakar to contest the position due for themselves. Shame!

The Southeast have lost. They lost their turn because there are no men in their land in this generation and the history will remark on it indelibly.

Let history write down the names of Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Engr. David Umahi, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Hope Uzodimma, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, and others in their team and likeness who could stand in desecration of the land saying that it's not the turn of the Southeast. Of course, only the floolishly lazy one blames and condemns his own mother, who has been mindlessly and incautiously abused and raped by his fellow man, for dressing provocatively. Never mind, weak people will blame themselves for their abuse by others.

The Southeast of this age has no man and these ballless folks are whelping a generation of simpletons who parade the media today evangelising the worthiness of Atiku Abubakar for the 2027 Presidential ascension. Young people of the Southeast who deserve bravery and trained in taming. What is wrong with these elements?

I will stop here for the moment to allow you all to think about these;

1. Are the Southeast unworthy of Nigerian leadership?

2. Are they not citizens or are they slaves in Nigeria?

3. How do people abandon themselves to the point of dehumanisation?

4. Why is the Southeast devoid of men of quality character within the corridors of power?

5. Why, how, what, where and when will the Southeast rise up for their rights in Nigeria?
