I read from a friend's wall here that the government is about to privatise over 12 highways this week. According to the post, the author alludes that such action by the government will raise revenue for the government. Now I ask; What do you mean when you say revenues please? Is it not still straining the poor road users the more and squeezing out the little money the government haven't stolen and embezzled from them? What's the economics of this privatisation please? Is it privatisation or commercialisation? Or is it extortion and subjugation of the common citizens? I want to learn. My thinking is that the government lacks creativity amidst their insatiable and unguarded avarice.
