THE VICTIM OF EVIL PROPAGANDA IN RIVERS STATE POLITICS: RT. HON. ROTIMI CHIBUIKE AMAECHI.

I have read lots of write-ups about and against the current Minister of Transportation and former Governor of Rivers State. I have severally interacted with many intelligent critics of Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi who argue bitterly against him. I have read and listened to the many news around him and the current Governor of Rivers State - His Excellency Ezenwo Nyesom Wike. One thing underlies the entire situation; someone has or few groups have manipulated the media against Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and he has suffered the punishment of the real tormentor(s). Why and what is their reason for this condemnable machinations?

Somehow, I found out that this same Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi was once celebrated among his people and the entire Nigeria as the Best Governor. He at some time was known as a fearless and great leader and was hallowed for such shinning qualities. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi was once seen as humane, respectful, honourable, wise, sound, mature, excellent, meticulous, sincere and intelligent leader among other gracious qualities.

The questions that should bother our minds immediately from the foregoing are;

1. At what point did Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi become a bad man?

2. Why now is he seen differently from what he used to be seen as?

3. Who is branding Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi as a bad man?

4. Is Rt. Hon.  Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi a bad man as painted at the moment?

5. Who is the bad man or woman in Rivers State politics?

I could remember very clearly that even while His Excellency Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, then Minister of State for Education floated his Grassroots Development Movement (GDM), he still respected Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and referred to him as the leader of the PDP in Rivers State. He also said at that time that he cannot and has not come to struggle power or the leadership of the state with him. But the war had surreptitiously started by that time though Wike was gradually being recruited as hatchet man (to be) for the yoman's job.

In my several chat with those  who are against Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, they have always agreed on one thing; that the problem was caused by the wife of the former President Goodluck Jonathan - Dame Patience Jonathan. They also agreed that while His Excellency Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi was governor of Rivers State, he went out of his way to do everything to make sure President Goodluck Jonathan won the presidential election and made a President. All of them agreed that Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi was one of the people who funded his victory as the president of Nigeria. They also agreed that Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi entered Nyesom Wike's name as the Minister to represent Rivers State in President Jonathan's cabinet. Invariably, it was HE Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi that made HE Nyesom Wike a Federal Minister under the GEJ administration.

The evil game and bad gimmicks come in when those who are against Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi today in favour of HE Ezenwo Nyesom Wike also agreed that the First Lady publicly humiliated, shamed and disgraced Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi who invited him as a special guest to inaugurate one of the projects he completed in the state. They agreed that Dame Patience Jonathan snatched microphone from the Governor (Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi), his host and publicly called him innumerable unprintable names. She treated her host like a common criminal and layed him out for public shame. The First Lady indeed took her turn and entertained herself abundantly to the shock of every sane mind in publicly assaulting HE Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi.

I always begin to get worried whenever we get at this point. I always ask them, even you my dear reader; if you were Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, what would you have done at that point?

I am sure many of you would have responded to the First Lady immediately. Many of them would have also declared war knowing that she is a woman like his wife. But Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi did not insult the First Lady, he did not even reply to anything she said but he went ahead to accord her all respect, privileges and rights due to her.

As a responsible man, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi reported to Mr. President what transpired and the President promised to handle the situation. The next thing that happened was the withdrawal and change of the security details of Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi by the President (Goodluck Jonathan) and his wife - Dame Patience Jonathan. What was Rotimi Amaechi's sin? Maybe you can help me my respectable reader?

From this, the President's wife Mrs. Patience Jonathan recruited few treacherous members of the State House with the help of thugs to overrun the legislature in a bid to impeach Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi. What did Amaechi do to Mrs. Jonathan and her husband? Did he take their land, did he abuse their daughter, or did he insult any of their house help? As Omawunmi will say; "if you ask me, Na who I go ask? ".

We all saw in the brouhaha how one Bipi was proudly saying that Mrs. Jonathan was his own Jesus Christ and he can kill or annihilate anybody for her sake. It was obvious that the war and the underneath impeachment plan was the deal of Mrs. Jonathan and her husband the President. Even at this point, though it was clear that GEJ was with the wife and was supporting her fully, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi never said anything against him but kept asking him to intervene and prevail on the situation.

All Nigerians saw how GEJ and Mrs. Dame Patience Jonathan blocked Governor Amaechi from entering the Government House with all thinkable and unthinkable military forces during the period. Armed and masked Policemen, Mobile policemen and Army personnel were a common scene and sight around Rivers State Government House. They did everything horrible and contrary to good conscience against Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi but he was persistently asking for peace. He was seen as a fool and chicken hearted because he wanted peace and pleaded for it.

Again, HE Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi used his position as the Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) to work and ensure that GEJ won as the President in 2011. Now the next thing was an order from Mr. President and his First Lady that Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi should not exercise his right to vie for the position he is holding. They infringed on his fundamental rights and did all sorts of evil things against an innocent man who made sure that they become what they were as at that time - President and First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The NGF election eventually took place and Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi won with 19 votes against Gov. Jonah Jang who polled 16 votes. In order to make sure that they destroyed Gov. Amaechi, GEJ and Mrs. Jonathan promulgated an up-to-date bizarre mathematical law that is senselessly against all known rules in that aged discipline. It was first heard from the duo of Patience Jonathan and her husband that 16 was greater than 19. It was indeed a shame! They went ahead to recognize and receive Gov. Jang as the winner and therefore the Chairman of NGF. Till this moment, I am yet to understand how the President and his dear wife became members of the NGF as to decide who runs and who doesn't run as this and that in the NGF. Ladies and gentlemen, I  see no tyranny here please!

After this war against Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, Mrs. Jonathan and the husband went further to suspend Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi from the PDP thereby showing him the door. Please forget about your hatred against Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi for once and judge rightly. Remember the law of the golden rule. If you adjudge anything or any action as good, please check such measure upon yourself. Let's always put ourselves at the receiving end of any action we approve of and judge what we think Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi should have done in his circumstance once again.

Mrs. Patience Jonathan and her husband GEJ had prepared their political obituary for Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi but God said no! They shut him out of everything humanly good but they forgot that they were not God. I could simply not agree less with the saying that reality has many windows and that when one door closes another opens. Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi was a specimen for the experiment on that saying.

So now instead of blaming a man who could not control and manage the excesses of his wife and household, we now find pleasure in condemning the innocent man? Indeed His Excellency Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is a victim of evil propaganda in Rivers State politics.

Having been battered, abused, humiliated and suspended from the party he helped build - the PDP - Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi was like an abandoned child and a finished man. Just as the maxim which says "man proposes and God disposes", God said to Amaechi, it will not be your end my son! The next rise will call.

Seeing the great value in him, the new political party the APC came in an utilized the opportunity to bring him in to help grow the party. Of course, with his large followership across the nation as a rounded leader, he moved. He became a celebrated bride within the APC and was immediately made the DG of the Presidential Campaign Team.

Again, Mrs. Jonathan and the husband raised an enemy for him in his closest friend and long lasting ally he even made a national personality. HE Ezenwo Nyesom Wike took up the mindless part and became the hitman. Wike braced up for the dirty job against his own brother and friend. Their relationship history meant nothing to him and the lives of innocent Rivers people to be put in danger were nothing for Wike to mind or feel a little concern about.

We remembered clearly that Wike was chosen by Mrs. Jonathan against the zoning arrangement in Rivers State at that time. It didn't go without the advertised reason being that they needed someone who can match and confront Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi force to force and bone to bone. It is at this point that the politics of blood and death was introduced in Rivers State. The political annals of Rivers State got watered and fertilized by the blood of fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, uncles and aunts of Rivers people. The rhythm of Rivers State political jingles changed and had a typical mix of the cries, sobs and grief of windows and helpless orphans.

Will anybody claim ignorance of who brought in death and bloodshed in the politics of Rivers State as it is today anymore?

Will it still be reasonable and fair enough to say that HE Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi brought in the type of politics we now experience in Rivers State today which is riddled with violence and murder?

Can anybody be seen as truthful, faithful and just to call Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi out as the bad man in Rivers State politics anymore?

Recall that we came into the 2015 general election in Rivers State and the seed sown by Dame Patience Jonathan and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with the apprenticeship of Gov. Nyesom Wike began to sprout and blossom. Little did anyone know that the reaping was handy. They left Bayelsa State and came to Rivers State to unleash mayhem, terror and blood letting. Goodluck Jonathan told the world that his ambition was not worth the blood of any Nigerian but he failed to tell his congregation that his ambition was worth the blood of the entire Rivers people - innocent men and women, fathers and mothers and children.

As soon as the election began, the First Lady Mrs. Jonathan flooded the whole length and breadth of Rivers State with the Army and all their Police was fully armed to the teeth. It was as if the command was to shoot at sight anybody seen to be supporting Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi. Everything was against Gov. Amaechi and Mrs. Jonathan took over the government of Rivers State with the Police and the Armed Forces.

Ezenwo Nyesom Wike was on top of his game and was ready to shoot down the totality of Rivers State. Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi was horrified at what his own friend he made a national figure was willing to do to his people because of money. How much did Mrs. Jonathan offer Wike to kill the whole of Rivers State and deliver it to her? Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi kept saying that he was shocked at what Wike could do for just money and nobody listened to him instead they laughed at him saying Wike has come to tame him. What, after all, is Madam Jonathan going to do with the blood of Rivers State children? Nobody bothered about all these questions raised by Gov. Amaechi.

While Gov. Amaechi kept asking that sanity be allowed in the state he governed, those who are campaigning against him today kept saying he was a coward. They said Wike was more than him. They said Wike made him and has the capacity to unmake him. Many were clapping for Nyesom Wike calling him "Wicked Wike" in the form of praises. HE Nyesom Wike used the Armed Forces and the Police with the full federal might against Gov. Amaechi and his supporters and he was celebrated for such dirty job. Is there anyone who didn't know what Wike, Mrs. Jonathan and GEJ did with federal forces in Rivers State? What did they say then and what are they saying now?

I hate double standard! While I plead that sanity should be allowed in the politics of Rivers State, it is important to keep the records straight.

For failure of Mr. President to manage his wife and put her excesses under control, Gov. Amaechi is being blamed!

For the First Lady to forcefully remove microphone from Gov. Amaechi while he was making speech in the state he is the Governor, Gov. Amaechi is blamed!

For calling the Governor who invited Mama peace as she was called in her heydays to commission a project he executed for the state so as to use the medium to promote the President (her own husband) many evil and devilish names, Gov. Chibuike Amaechi is blamed!

For calling a husband to tell him how he was humiliated, dehumanized and shamed by the wife and not paying back in the same coin as insults, Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is blamed!

For removing his security details without his knowledge because he reported to Mr. President his ordeal, Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is blamed!

For making all attempts to impeach him without reason as the governor, Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is blamed!

For trying to usurp the powers of both the executive and legislature of Rivers State which was a treasonable felony, Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is blamed!

For failing to impeach the governor, Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is blamed!

For stopping Gov. Amaechi from exercising his right to contest the Chairman of NGF, Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is blamed!

For turning reality upside down and asserting that 16 is greater than 19, Gov. Amaechi is blamed!

For recognizing Gov. Jonah Jang against the winner of NGF, Gov. Amaechi is blamed!

For suspending Rotimi Amaechi from the PDP and making him a leader without a platform, Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is blamed!

For moving to the APC after being suspended without reason from the PDP he helped build, Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is blamed!

For working where he was recognized as a human being, Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is blamed!

For failing in the 2015 election and not returned as the President, Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is blamed and called Judas!

And today again, for the seeds of discord someone else planted in Rivers State politics and especially elections, Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is also blamed!

Fellow compatriots, it is only wood that heard that it is going to be cut down and remained at the same spot. Let us also judge and pray that the same measure we mete to Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi be returned to us. If you were allowed to suffer all that Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi suffered under a man he helped to become the President, a woman he made to become a substantive First Lady and a man he grew to become a Federal Minister, what will you do?

In answering the foregoing question, let us always remember that what is good for the geese should as well be good for the gander and that whenever you point at someone with one finger, the rest fingers will be pointing at you.
