A DIRGE AT THE GRAVE OF JAMIKE IBEJI Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

Spl. Snr. Ap. Jamike Ibeji
Like the breeze we feel
Life is nothing to hold on
When you think you have it
It strikes venomous to leave
The toiling, the hustles
The bustling and cravings
They're all wishful and no more
Vain as null are all I see

Those who make peace die
Those who wage wars die
Those who save life die
Those who murder also die
Who's friend is death?
Who do I ask this thirsty question?

You gave life and hope
You lifted minds with peace
You made homes gain love
You made worship a fun
Your life was never idle
You were an example
A star that pierced the dark

Woe unto death
It's at peace with griefs
Woe unto death
It laughs when crying louds
But where does death live?
What's her nature?
A thing, being or nothing?
Her movement is blind
It hits as it goes
It doesn't matter where you sit or stand

Hello Power!
Can you still hear your name?
Gentleman of peace
Lover of so many
Meek and wondrous
Those who hate you don't have life
Mightiness of absolutely Gentility
Pain of the evil beings
Killer of peace destroyers
Giant of humility and gusto
Raw material of wisdom
Magnet of romance
The charm of the world

The connector and bridge
The General of networks
Wonder man of relationships
Bond merchant
Social connectivity lord
Business machine
Moral counsellor
Oh preacher by act!

What a way to bow out?
With such noisome silence
You slipped across
What a skillful quiescence
That with so much daze
You stunned the world
How did you do this JamPower?

Goodbye my magic tiger
Goodnight magnificent allure
Go well the mechanic of minds
Let the angels fan you into repose
Oh Power! Please say goodbye to cryers
You kept moving and never turned
Rest in peace Dedem Jamike

It's indeed over with death...

  5. What??? Still in shock of our beloved brother's passing into glory. I never met him, but we spoke by phone and I heard so many funny stories about his humour. I also heard he was a man of the people. Oh Death, where is thy sting?.Power Jamike Ibeji, you have lived, conquered and now resting in the bossom of Jesus Christ. I am lost gor words, is this how life is so short?

Whatever we the living are doing on earrth, do it for God's glory. Life is just nothing. May God comfort all Ibeji family and friends worldwide in Jesus mighty name. Still in shock, just heard this a few hours ago. I am sorry to hear this. God bless his soul. Rest well, dear Brother.
