20TH OF BLOOD! Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

The heavens braced with tears
The rocks trembled aimlessly
The sky got gloom and shy
And fame was set to defame
Then they came with shame

Yes! The world will
They will honour the young
Those who've just done noble
They lifted hope and sank fears
What is historic even to heroes

And Lekki Gate they Toll was the garden
The souls of young Nigerians were planted
And their blood watered the future of all
Those were the heroes and not victims

The nation is put into mourning
It's by those who ought keep them safe
The throne and the vigil men
They took the lives of their keepers
Casting away lights out of lives
It's a harrowing shame!

These young people are innocent
They prayed for dear country
Wearing courage as garments
They called for justice
They prayed for equality
They asked for purity of service
Requesting life from their fatherland
But all they got is death

What a father kills his own child
Even with mouth full of the sound
That sound is echoing father
Even as she calls him father
Oh father!

Look at the floors of the tarred Lekki
It's now a place of history of sorrow
The future leaders wasted here
What a slaughter plane it is
It's indeed a shame!

Peace has left our land
Joy has departed our leaders
They'll lead us no more
They have lost their minds
We must retrieve our wills
Here ends our deal

Get down the saddle
We now need our peace
We need our safety
We withdraw our trust
We need to live but not in fears
But one more; get down the saddle

It's 20th October o'clock
In the year Two Hundred and Twenty
Many hope faded into dims
Those nights that shall wake
Waking eternally in our hearts

Goodnight heroes of our land
You fed this land with freedom
Freedom won with your blood
We'll surge till your dreams come
You now will wake twice
Each day in our loving memories
One more day at the end of eternity
Goodbye on the 20th of Blood!

  1. Touchy
    Pains
    Worries

    Our president is a beast
    PMB is a regret
    He was asked to speak
    He sent killers

    More worried than any
Do you know I voted him?
    A touchy painful worries.
