MANHOOD IS A SOLITUDE Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

Howbeit!
We're lonely in the crowd
No mistakes
That's being a man or so

We cry in silence
Our burdens aren't open
None believes us though
Being a man, nevertheless

Our failures are borne
Burnt into our fabrics
By ourselves, none else
Don't shout, don't grieve
It's the way of man

Everyone is our problem
We're a problem to none
We live for all, none for us
We do this forever
Till we kiss the dust
This is a man

Oh solitude!
Our friend all seasons
Whence will you die
That we gain freedom
The separation from you
Manhood wedded solitude
But never to divorce
