A Portrait Of One Nation. Written by Comrade Reginald Ifeanyi Chiekezi

When my refrigerator broke down
and money for repair was not close,
my soup protested against constant heating,
having lost it's leaf-green status to harsh stove light,
I then sought for remedial relief.

The poor in search of solutions
fall prey easily;
"half bread is better than none" he say's!
The easiest move was to drag a refurbished fridge home,
much cheaper than reviving my ailing own;
it cooled but it had no doors,
so the experienced supplier advised
I place a curtain as it's lid.

This is the portrait of one nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.
