AS THE MOVEMENT FOR IGBO PRESIDENCY 2023 BEGINS: DO NOT BE FOUND WANTING. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

When I declared my next political engagement as the pursuit of Igbo presidency come 2023, many of our people responded that it is a mission impossible. Though I responded to them that "We may never know till we try" but I recall now an Igbo adage which says "onye eziri ozi ka ya jee gwa umu nna ya, Ya diri na ha agaghi ekwe, Ya onwe ya okwele?".
For those who are yet to understand the Igbo adage, it simply translates; "a man who is sent an errand to his people and he declared that his people will not agree; has himself agreed?".
The first step to victory is to step out courageously. Igbos are known for bravery. To say that it is impossible for an Igbo man or woman to rule Nigeria as the President is to play by the rules of the oppressors.
The movement is simple; Igbo Presidency 2023 or Nigeria is declaring Biafra by herself.
Remember the game that if you do not make an attempt, you may never know what you can achieve and you also may be blamed on such mistake. Nigeria needs to convince the Igbos that we are really Nigerians else we shall define our identity.
We who are the front fighters for the Igbo dignity in Nigeria are optimistic that the right thing must be done. To this end one might ask; what is the right thing?
After the northern reign with President Muhammadu Buhari which climaxes in 2023, power returns to the South. Here in the South, the three (3) geopolitical zones have to be checked for proper handover of presidential baton. We will recall that in the power sharing, the South-West has done two (2) tenures of 8 years through their son Chief Dr. Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo. The South-South has also taken a bite of a tenure and half of solid done 6 years +. However, the South-East is yet to have a share of this seat of the central government.
From the foregoing, it is only logical enough that the Nigerian presidency is handed the South-East in 2023. Many eyes are on Nigeria and her citizens in this matter and a lot of doubt mounting on the faithfulness of Nigeria to the Igbo race.
This is the sincere reason why the National Chairman of the United Progressive Party (UPP) supported President Muhammadu Buhari for the 2nd tenure. This is to cut down on the span of the journey of Igbo presidency. In the thinking of the political party, an Atiku presidency is a four year addition (at least) to the northern reign thereby extending the waiting days of crowning the Igbo presidency.
Now you should be asking; who shall we send? Who will go for us?
The earlier we start getting ready for the showdown, the better for us. Let us not tarry in doubt because handing out to an unprepared Igbos is the same as never and we will only have ourselves to blame. Let us not wait till they choose one of them amongst us for us which will also amount to nought. Let us therefore make our choice by ourselves now.
Join me and my team as the build up for our movement gathers strength; it is going to be a rave of the era and I pray you are not left out.
Our consultations have geared up in earnest and it shall be sweeping the entire contours of Nigeria and beyond. Nobody will be left out as the international community will be part of this great movement. This is indeed the pursuit of justice for humanity and Africa in particular.
I am,
KEMKA S. IBEJI
