THE FULANI HERDERS AND THEIR LEADERS HAVE ENDANGERED THEIR EXISTENCE AMIDST NIGERIA WITH THEIR CRIMES. Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

They destroy other people's investments, feed their own wealth by making others poor, rape their wives, aunties and daughters, kidnap, kill and traffic their organs in the name of herding and now hunting. These foolish folks from the North talking now never condemned them not knowing that they're rather endangering the lives of even their generations to come. If the Hausas and the other tribes or ethnic groups in the North keep turning themselves into slaves by defending the stupidity, madness and barbarism of the marauders that call themselves Fulani herdsmen.

While growing up we saw them herding peacefully and we helped guide and direct them towards bushes away from agricultural investments. We showed them love and ensured they were safe. But now that they have turned threats and terrorists in our land being protected and preserved by their brothers and sisters in government, the armed forces and other security agencies, they have turned themselves into nothing else than the enemies of the good people of Nigeria.

Wherever people think or reason appropriately, it should have been the most important and popular preaching from their leaders; both secular and religious. It ought to have been the mandate of their clerics to call them to order and admonish them on the best way to keep doing their businesses. But it is becoming even more and more glaring that they are all complicit. 

That respected northern leaders could threaten the entire country instead of cautioning their misbehaving herder brethren speaks so loudly of who is the sender of the messengers. In our very watchful eyes, these folks have abandoned their trade of herding and have wholeheartedly embraced kidnapping, hostage taking, rampant and horrible raping (of mothers, wives, aunties and daughters), destruction of farmlands, threat to the peace and security (of the people), terrorism, human trafficking, illegal organ harvesting, all manner of crimes thereto and every dehumanising venture, especially against their host communities.

In all the foregoing, nobody and I mean nobody from the North or the government of Nigeria has elected to say anything in condemnation of these heinous crimes against the innocent citizens of Nigeria. The most foolish and irresponsible reactions come from the many other tribes and ethnic groups in the North who prefer their perpetuity in slavish existence in their own land under the Fulani. They wholeheartedly accepted to be slaves to them by their cowardly capitulation to the defeat and enslavement of their fathers and forefathers by the jihadists. They have refused to wake up and lean towards freedom but wish to drag the rest of Nigeria into such a hopelessly helpless state they shamelessly and painfully relish.

To this end, it has become important to call the spade by its name and to educate these extremists on the dangers they are forcing their necks into. Many tribes in Nigeria (especially in the South) are not cowards like the majority of those yonder in the North and won't bow to this raging madness of the Fulani herders and their enablers. If the leaders and sponsors of these nefarious Fulani herders do not call them back to the reasonable and lawful paths as soon as they can, it may not be too long from now that they will be hunted down everywhere in the country like cheap games and hounded silly like beasts across Nigeria and even beyond.
