AS CHIEF CHEKWAS OKORIE GETS OLDER... By KEMKA S. IBEJI
Chief Chekwas Okorie (Oje Ozi Ndị Igbo) |
Birth is a mystery of equality in gradation. It marks a common beginning for all but loaded with discrepancies so large and most subtle. It was William Shakespeare in one of his plays that said, "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon 'em."
I wasn't there when you were born but as a thinker, our ideas usually have a way of moving from the known to the unknown. And so from where we met, I can say of your birth and your future. Upon this I can most vehemently say that you were born great, you have achieved greatness, you also have and will have greatness thrust upon you.
Like a company of stars, you have remained so conspicuous in the eyes of discerning consciousness as a man stout on principles, conviction, resolution and sound choice. Your logic has remained valid and founded on truth. Your vows are law which you have earned reputation for keeping. Your being is cast fast on good values and reverberating mores that one can unmistakably infer and refer to you as a blazing valid fanatic.
The soundness of your thought system can overawe even the genius of epistemic wizardry. You are a rare gem, an empirical law, a tactical politician, sieved leader, rousing motivator, magical intellectual, graceful gentleman, thinking lawyer and a fact talker.
Just as you mark your march towards age today, I tickle your substance for immortality. Your greatness in deeds will herald you into the hall of immortals and so I tap to further ignite that which ushers you as such.
With hosts of transcendentals, myriad of earthly temporals and the few of living immortals, I wish you a flourishing birthday experience. I pray healthy abundance in health and acquisition for you today and in the years ahead.
It's your birthday dear messenger of our race - Igbo. Happy birthday Oje Ozi Ndị Igbo...
