ISN'T IT NIGERIA IN OUR EYES? By KEMKA S. IBEJI

We're entangled with the confusion

We're in a severely muddled pond

It seems like abyss and a pond

Nothing is real, nothing is unreal

Everything is unreal, everything is real

It's our world and we live in it

Olden days bads are norms now

Disdains of then are celebrities of now

Common will custodians  turn usurpers

Our guards are robbing and raping us

Friends of God are living in hades

We're urged to say more?

No wonder! Morality left the law

The temple of justice's sty of outlaws

My attorney's a head hunter

My Lord is a criminal

It feels like hades is here

Our pens are bleeding falsehood

Our gowns are misleaders

Our pulpits tell lies and deceive

Our people are eating sands

But a few praise the Rock of Aso

It's a wondrous world, it's Nigeria

Don't let us mention Africa

Wake me up from this nightmare

It shall be alright one day

Waning never on hopes

Just one day soon...

  1. Many pictures of Nigeria, few painters hungry not to paint. We may have a history that's so blank.

    Oh Nigeria!
