THE COLONIALIST IS AT THE DOOR Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

Africa, my great Africa!

The cradle of civilization

The first light sighter

Africa, the giant humiliate

Wake up dear Africa

Africa broke the chest of wisdom

Africa smacked the lock of lights

Africa gave knowledge to the world

Africa trained all Thinkers of the world

Africa got humiliated in repayment

Our fathers were made slaves

Our mothers, sisters and daughters raped

Our children were destroyed before us

Our freedom called but halfway

Africa fights for the half freedom

Nearly a century now, we've fought on

The gains are much but about to go

Who do we want to serve in Niger?

The enemies are lurking like vultures

They feast on carcasses and spoils

The African carcasses they relish

Their meal for years uncountable

The colonisers are here again

The colonialist is at the door

The colonialists knock so deafening

Keep this door shut now

Where is our wisdom Africa

Our ancestors were so witty

What has happened to their offsprings

Do we now die in ignorance?

Let's not get into the open arms

The arms of our colonisers are ajar

Their teeth are yawning for ours

Let's not crumble

Africa oh Africans

Rise up to wisdom and awe

Defend our land with wits

Let our reasoning blaze as blade

Send the enemies home in shame

The colonialist is at the door.

Shut this door and forever shut it

Rise up oh Africa!
