DOUBT AND IMPERFECTION: THERE IS NO JIBRIN OF SUDAN IN ASO ROCK! Written by KEMKA S. IBEJI

President Muhammadu Buhari

In my little life span, I have come to realize that for the sake of imperfection as an intrinsic truism of human nature, we must always live in doubt. It is indeed human enough to be in doubt or to doubt.

But for the reality of doubt as a human nature, it is a window for uncertainty and deceit. Because we are imperfect, we also lack certainty and will always doubt. And because we must always doubt, no matter how much we know or think to know anything, we are vulnerable to deceit.

It is for this simple fact that a lot of us, even my very self could at some point pause a while to ponder on the declaration of my brother Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on the claim that the President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari has died and what we see as the President is a cloned Jibrin from Sudan.

Indeed, I took some time out to ask myself several questions on the possibility of that. At some point, I could see myself agreeing and at some other point, I could see myself withdrawing and disagreeing with that. This is natural indeed because humans are wired with utensils that are fraught with uncertainties, imperfections, and doubt.

This may sound philosophical for those who have read epistemology though brought down here from the ivory towers to the market place. It is for this same reason that the protagonists of skepticism will admonish that we suspend judgment and the agnostics will also stand aloof at judgment and stay indifferent to knowledge claims.

Let us doubt because it is sincerely human but we must come to a point where, intersubjectively as against absolutism, we can say this is true and that is false. This is also granted by human nature as it holds no space for vacuum. There must be a point of no regress since we can not wallow in infinite regress else we will even doubt that we doubt. We must at some point assume a foundation else we dig indefinitely and endlessly and may never start a thing.

One clear and indubitable truth is that it is absolutely impracticable for a Jibrin to be in Aso Rock as it is posited. It is absolutely impossible!

Come on! If you are aware of the army of investigative journalists across Nigeria alone, Africa and the rest of the world interested in Nigeria not withstanding, you will know and appreciate how impossible it is to have any other person apart from Muhammadu Buhari. Mr. President would have had some health challenges as it is natural with humans and especially with respect to age, but he must be and is the man in the driver's seat.

Have you reasoned that we have people like former President Obasanjo who has in recent times become the prime critic of this government? People like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who wants to occupy that seat knowing it might be his last opportunity if he fails this time around? The CNN, BBC, FBI, and a myriad of international media and institutions that will pride on the fame of unraveling such seeming world biggest mystery of a Jibrin of Sudan as the President of Nigeria?

Have you thought about J F Kennedy of America and other world figures who died mysteriously but could not be hidden? Even at the height of it, President Yar'adua's death, amidst all secrecy, could not be hidden. Yar'Adua's condition was enmeshed in such secrecy that even his Vice President was kept in sore dark.

Let me submit that though we may hear, agree, disagree, reagree and doubt, it is impossible for a Jibrin of Sudan to seat 24 hours in Aso Rock as the President of Nigeria.

I am,
KEMKA S. IBEJI
