WHY THE WORLD, AFRICA & NIGERIA NEED PHILOSOPHERS NOW THAN EVER!!!
The world is being overtaken by the idea of terror and
suffers the spate of its negative effects which thrive on the lack or
bankruptcy of values.
Human values can be found within the precincts of philosophy
as a vital ingredient to social existence.
However, one would most sincerely approve of the fact that
low or no concentration on the metaphysics of values, and essentially human
values, can be blamed on the confirmable huge focus on scientific productions
and products without a littlest measure upon man/human/personhood as such.
The reality that impinges on our knowledge and subtle to our
subconscious states is that at both paramount and primal ends of science is the
human person. For this quiet reason, one can say without fear of mistake that
science ought to be a humble servant of man.
How true has the above assertion been? This must be left for
your answer.
Yes! Man is the subject of science as her indispensable
producer and ineluctable user.
Therefore, the abandonment of the human person and her
essential values has further alienated the being of the entire matter - organic
and inorganic. The consequence is an abominable awe.
Man has rejected himself first and now the other. This means
that if you do not count or see your own life as a worthy structure of value,
how therefore and what morals will you have to keep, save, adore or see reason
to life of another person.
Now that human beings have lost it all and the world is at
the verge of woes, there is no other worthy time to call on our GREAT
PHILOSOPHERS than now.
At one time in history THE GREAT PHILOSOPHERS created
Religion(s) and they solved certain prevalent problems. At another time they
created Laws to guide humans in the society. The Law and lawyers did their bits
but then... The PHILOSOPHER also created further Science to enhance life and it
has done great and small respectively.
We need not tell a lot more than this fact; that all the
philosophical creations of the THINKERS have graciously done service at their
good life span sides but grave disservice once their needs are served; they
destroy at age.
The gravest destruction at the age of science is TERRORISM
among many more.
The GREAT PHILOSOPHERS of our time can help once again to
create yet another solution to thunder down terror and re-establish value to
human life and human kind...
Only then can we be of healthy heart and mind even to
re-echo the humanly faced maxim that "Man is the measure of all things, of
the things that are that they are, and of the things that are not, that they
are not".
